History - Our Milestones

Diversco Supply Inc. is a family owned and operated company. Founded in 1986, Diversco has become a leading Canadian national wholesaler of propane, natural gas, oil heat, NH3, scuba, compressed gas, and compressed air equipment and supplies through our 6 stocking warehouses strategically located in Cambridge, ON, Montreal, QC, Calgary, AB, Saskatoon, SK, Moncton, NB and Winnipeg, MB. Our extensive line-up of quality products as well as our commitment to excellence, education and safety are key ingredients that have contributed to our success.

Having built our companies on a simple and direct approach to business; “take care of the customer”, we maintain a high regard for their employees, customers and vendors, and actually believe that true customer service should be experienced not just stated.

1986 - Diversco was incorporated in April 1986 as Sherwood Gas Controls by Jon Huddle and Bob Statham as distributors of L.P. Gas and Scuba equipment. During that time we had two major suppliers and operated out of 5,000 square feet of rented space in Cambridge, Ontario.

1987 - The business grew quickly and to look after the needs of the major national LPG dealer, we opened our second branch in Calgary, Alberta in October 1987.

1988 - Now that we had national distribution, business continued to grow to the point that our rental 5000 sq. ft. of warehousing in Cambridge was too small. In April 1988, we purchased 1.5 acres and constructed a 10,000 sq. ft. building as our new Cambridge warehouse and office.

1989 - In October 1989, we opened our third location in Montreal, Quebec. Since opening, we have expanded this branch four times to the current where we have purchased our own 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse and office.

1991 - 1991 was a year of change. Sherwood in Lockport, NY who was a major supplier, requested that we change our company name. We had become more than just a LP gas equipment distributor and to reflect the diverse nature of our growing and changing business, Diversco Supply Inc. (D.S.I) was chosen as our new company name.

1996 - We celebrated our 10th anniversary with customers and vendors.

2000 - Winnipeg, Manitoba was established in the year 2000 with public warehousing to support our salesperson there for an across Canada company total of nearly 40,000 sq. ft.

2003 - Diversco hosts its first Propane Industry Open House/Golf tournament in the year 2003.

2005 - Diversco moved its head office Cambridge branch from its 120 Shearson Crescent location to 495 Conestoga Blvd. in June of 2005. The complete move was accomplished in one full day with no downtime or inconvenience to our customers.

2006 - In order to facilitate our customer needs in Eastern Canada, we opened our new warehouse and sales office in Atlantic region, strategically located in Moncton.

Diversco hosts its Propane Industry Open House/Golf tournament in June, 2006. Product demonstrations and presentations from many manufacturers including an underground tank burial demonstration on site.

2007 - Diversco / DyTerra announce a strategic partnership in June of 2007. This has facilitated the addition of 2 new stocking warehouse facilities located in Winnipeg and Saskatoon.
